{"id":6495,"date":"2015-02-09T09:25:15","date_gmt":"2015-02-09T01:25:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/140.122.63.150\/?p=6495"},"modified":"2019-07-12T09:26:12","modified_gmt":"2019-07-12T01:26:12","slug":"20150209-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.itsc.ntnu.edu.tw\/index.php\/en\/2015\/02\/09\/20150209-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Outlines: Young Scholars Workshop at the ERCCT (due March 30, 2015)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Third<\/strong><strong>\u201cYoung Scholars Workshop\u201d at the CCKF-ERCCT Summer 2015<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The European Research Center on Contemporary Taiwan at Eberhard Karls University T\u00fc bingen will hold a workshop for emerging young scholars from\u00a0<strong>June 21<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0to June 28<sup>th<\/sup>, 2015<\/strong>. This year\u2019s workshop will place a particular emphasis on the subject:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201c<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>Gaining Space: Taiwan in the International Community\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Possible topics might include Taiwan\u2019s economic integration outside of Greater China; prospects for a Taiwan-EU Economic Cooperation Agreement; Taiwan\u2019s soft power, Taiwan in international organizations, EU-Taiwan relations , and others.<\/p>\n<p>However, papers on other topics related to Taiwan and cross-Strait relations are also welcome.<\/p>\n<p>Ph.D. students (3<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0year and above) and postdocs of the social sciences working on academic projects related to Taiwan or China are invited to submit their application.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop will provide young scholars with the opportunity to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>present their research to an international audience;<\/li>\n<li>engage in scholarly exchange on topics related to theory and methodology;<\/li>\n<li>fine-tune the theoretical framework of their respective research projects;<\/li>\n<li>get to know T\u00fcbingen and its University;<\/li>\n<li>take part in our Taiwan Documentary Film Festival (June 26-27)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ten to twelve young scholars (five-six each from Europe and Taiwan) will be invited to attend. Travel expenses and accommodation will be fully covered by the ERCCT. After the conclusion of the workshop, participants will be asked to provide a short paper, which will be published online in our ERCCT Online Paper Series.<\/p>\n<p>Interested students are invited to
