The Taiwan Studies Center (TSC) at National Chengchi University is going to hold a conference under the title \u201cSocial movements, rights discourses and citizenship: Social and political developments in Taiwan in a regional perspective\u201d from November 6 to November 7, 2012. The conference will focus on 1) Social movements and the construction of a human-rights\u2019 country and 2) Social movements in a transnational context including five panels listed below.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
TaiwanStudies Center has been cooperated with University of Vienna for years and focused on the aspects of transformation, transition and transnationalism, and has more recently grown to include an outlook towards the \u2018Greater China\u2019 region as compared to Austria embedded within Europe. We sincerely welcome scholars from all over the world to submit abstracts of your papers for the conference before May 30, 2012. The selected paper proposals will be announced on June 30, 2012. The deadline for submission of the conference papers will be October 15, 2012. All selected papers will be reviewed and published after the conference.<\/div>\n
