Young Scholars Workshop at ERCCT, Tuebingen University (June 26-July 1, 2012)

 The European Research Center on Contemporary Taiwan at Eberhard Karls University Tuebingen will hold a workshop for emerging young scholars from June 26th to July 1st 2012. The major venue of the workshop will be the Heinrich-Fabri-Institut in the picturesque village of Blaubeuren, located in the lush hills of the Swabian Highlands. After the workshop, participants are invited to a two-day excursion to Tuebingen University.

Twelve young scholars of the social sciences working on academic projects related to Taiwan or China, including Ph.D. students and postdocs, are thus offered with the precious opportunity to:
  • present their research to an international audience;
  • engage in scholarly exchange on topics related to theory and methodology;
  • fine-tune the theoretical framework of their respective research projects;
  • get to know Tuebingen and its University;
  • The participants, including young scholars from both Europe and Taiwan, are further encouraged to compose an article on their topic, to be published in the ERCCT’s Online Paper Series. The most outstanding contributions will be selected for additional publishing in the Taiwan-Edition of the Journal of Current Chinese Affairs.
