Full-Time Teaching Positions in Taiwan Studies

Department of Taiwan Culture, Languages and Literature at National Taiwan Normal University in Taipei, Taiwan, invites applications for two full-time teaching positions at the level of assistant professor or above in the fields of Taiwanese culture, languages and literature.

Qualifications:

Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in hand, with dissertation or representative publication in the field of interdisciplinary Taiwan studies, preferably with a research focus on cultural & creative industries and cultural policy, Taiwan aboriginal studies, or Hakka studies. In addition, applicants should meet one of the following requirements:

1) A formal publication record in the past 3 years (peer review report and certificate of approval should be enclosed).

2) At least three academic papers published within the past 3 years in such citation indices as SCI, SSCI, TSSCI, EI, A&HCI, THCI Core, or in academic journals authorized by the College of Liberal Arts at National Taiwan Normal University (http://www.ntnucla.com/main/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=374&Itemid=164).

3) At least one research project funded by National Science Council (NSC) in the past 3 years.

4) Other remarkable achievements with certificates.

Required documents: (all in 3 copies)

1) English statement of purpose (including expertise and self-introduction) and curriculum vitae (including certificates of educational qualification, previous employment and other supporting record).

2) Photocopy of Ph.D. diploma and official transcript.

3) Copy of Ph.D. dissertation or representative publication, together with relevant publications within the past 5 years. (Please enclose a Chinese abstract if the materials are in another language)

4) List of all publications.

5) List of courses ever offered (including course name, credit, department affiliated to, etc).

6) Syllabi of courses proposed to offer.

Note:

1) All documents mentioned above should be submitted in 3 copies.

2) Diplomas, transcripts and proof of employments obtained abroad must be verified by R.O.C. (Taiwan) overseas embassies or representative offices.

All application materials must be postmarked and sent out no later than 31 Mar 2012. Materials submitted will not be returned.
