East Asian Popular Culture Association 2011 Inaugural Conference (September 1-4, 2011)

The East Asian Popular Culture Association (EAPCA), the newest branch of the Popular Culture Association / American Culture Association (PCA / ACA), will hold its inaugural conference in Taipei, Taiwan. Popular culture often transcends national, political and social boundaries, and this has become all the more true with the shrinking global village. The conference is therefore planned to shed light on this paradox and other complexities regarding East Asian popular culture.

Date: September 1 – 4, 2011

Venue:Howard International House, Taipei, Taiwan (福華國際文教會館)

Registration Fee:

International participants must pay a registration fee of US$150. The registration fee includes the banquet, tea breaks and a tour of Taipei on the final day. An international participant is defined as one who is primarily based at an institution that lies outside the territory under the jurisdiction of the Republic of China (Taiwan), regardless of nationality. Local observers (Taiwan-based attendees who do not present) must pay a fee of NT2,000 to cover the lunch buffet and tea breaks for two days.
